Bring out the coats: Calgary is expecting severe weather and a drop in temperature

Looks like winter isn’t quite over for us yet, YYC.

According to The Weather Network, Calgary is expected to be on the cool side this weekend, with low temperatures and severe weather forecast.

It’s 4ºC in town right now and feels more like 2ºC. Calgary will see a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 11 ° C on Friday afternoon before the temperature drops over the weekend.

Friday night will bring a low of -7ºC which will rise to 0ºC by Saturday morning. A maximum of only 5 ° C is planned for Saturday and we are facing some wet thunderstorms.

On Sunday morning there could be up to an inch of snow on the ground.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, but this sunshine will not improve temperatures at all and a high of 5 ° C is expected again.

Temperatures on Sunday will drop to -4 ° C overnight, and Monday will peak at 3 ° C with a mixture of sun and clouds.

The forecast shows no interruption in the cool weather until next Friday, when we will finally see double-digit temperatures again with a predicted high of 10 ° C.

Let’s hope the temperature warms up a little more next weekend so that we can take full advantage of the patio season in Calgary.
