International travelers flying to YYC may be able to safely skip the 14-day quarantine period.
The Province of Alberta announced that a joint federal and state pilot program will offer on-site COVID-19 testing for returning international travelers at both Calgary International Airport and the Coutts land border crossing.
Those that will be tested will still need to be quarantined. However, you can stop once a negative test is confirmed. Reception usually takes between two and six days.
Even with a negative test, those who have traveled outside of the country must have a second coronavirus test six or seven days after arriving at a participating pharmacy, the Alberta province press release said.
Those who test negative are also closely monitored for symptoms and must wear masks in public and avoid risk groups.
The pilot program starts on November 2nd.
