The task force has also established a central information center for local business owners.

“What we are hearing right now is a lack of information. The companies really don’t understand what’s going on, ”said Sutherland.

“We created an information hub for businesses that links them to everything they need to know and frequently asked questions.

Sutherland said the website is updated regularly to reflect the latest updates from local, provincial, and federal governments.

“It can be difficult to get all the details,” he said.

“That is the purpose of the website, to get as much detail as possible and get the information as quickly as possible so you don’t have to search everywhere.”

Sutherland said the COVID-19 pandemic created an uncertain time for many businesses in the city. He hopes this new initiative will help connect these companies with everything they need to be successful in the future.
