The scorching summer weather is finally on its way to Calgary.
After an above-average wet summer with thunderstorms in the city left and right, YYC will finally experience a week that is tailor-made for tanning, swimming in the river and drinking on the terrace.
The Weather Network is forecasting temperatures in the high 20s for the next seven days, which the 7-day weather forecast will all seem to feel like the higher side of 30 ° C.
The only day that this mark can really be reached is Tuesday, when a high of 31 ° C is expected which feels closer to 34 ° C, 12 hours of sunshine and calm winds of just 15 km / h.
Wednesday is technically not as hot as its predecessor, but it could very well feel that way as the Weather Network clocks it to an expected 29 ° C, which feels like 35 ° C.
Thursday and Friday follow the feeling of 31 ° C while actually sitting at 25 ° C and 26 ° C, respectively. Both see the risk of severe thunderstorms and the possibility of around 1 mm of precipitation.
The sky will clear up for the weekend, bringing welcome highs of 29 ° C on Saturday and 28 ° C on Sunday that will feel more like 32 ° C and 31 ° C.
All to say that the hottest week of summer (hopefully so far) is on its way to Calgary. So make the most of it!
… and maybe invest in sunscreen if you haven’t already.
