Pull out those parkas because it’s going to be a cool weekend here in Calgary.
The Weather Network’s weekend forecast predicts that YYC will snow heavily over the next few days, burying the green grass and unsalted sidewalks we enjoyed during the last warm period.
The forecast suggests that the first sign of snowfall will be seen on Friday evening, with isolated thunderstorms in the evening, thunderstorms overnight and full snowfall on Saturday morning.
As expected, temperatures also seem to have dropped below freezing through Friday night, and Saturday afternoon only warms up to a high of -2 ° C, which feels more like -7 ° C.
However, Sunday marks the coldest day of the weekend with a high of -7 ° C, which hits the skin a little more like -15 ° C.
As I said, get the parkas ready.
About 7 to 9 cm of snow can fall on this weekend, about 1 cm on Friday, about 5 cm on Saturday and about 1 to 3 cm on Sunday.
Whether or not this snow will last forever is unclear, but we’re not holding our breath to see the green grass of Calgary again soon.
