We have good news and bad news, Calgary.
The good news is that the weather is expected to get a little warmer this week. The bad news is that the relief will be fleeting.
The weather network’s 7-day forecast shows a short trip north of freezing this Friday and Saturday hitting scorching highs of 2 ° C and 1 ° C, respectively.
This happens after a Wednesday and Thursday with a mix of sun and clouds and heights of only -6 ° C and 0 ° C, although these will feel a little closer to -7 ° C and -2 ° C.
Not to mention a snow probability for Tuesday evening, with which we have to contend with a low of -11 ° C.
Calgary Weather (The Weather Network)
The last snowfall we’ll see this week will come on Saturday, if at all, with a 30% chance of about 1cm falling.
At the beginning of next week, real winter begins with 2 to 4 cm of snow on Tuesday.
Aside from a seriously powerful chinook, it looks like Calgary will be covered in the white stuff from now through next spring.
Parkas on guys, it’s going to be a long winter.
