No one was injured after the fire at the Calgary junkyard

CALGARY – A store in northeast Calgary suffered significant damage in a double-alarm fire on Saturday, officials say.

The Calgary Fire Department was called to the building on the 7000 block on 36th St. NE shortly before 1:00 p.m. to report a fire.

When the emergency services arrived at the scene, they noticed a lot of smoke and flames from the building. Due to limited water supplies and the nature of the business, officials soon issued a second alarm.

With the additional funds, the crews were able to bring the fire under control, search the building and extinguish all the flames in a short time.

No one was injured in the course of the incident.

A CFD fire investigator searches for the cause of the fire.

All citizens with photos, videos or other information related to the incident are asked to contact the CFD via email.
