As the pandemic continues to affect small businesses of all shapes and sizes, but especially the hospitality industry, the City of Calgary is a regular reminder of the importance of supporting local businesses through its #SupportLocalYYC campaign. Whether you want a cup of coffee, a sumptuous dinner, or something else, make sure you have something in your sights that is independently owned.

With that in mind, we asked our creative director and longtime food writer Dan Clapson to dine at some of his favorite places to eat and drink at three BIAs in Calgary, Beltline, International Avenue and the Downtown Association. Here’s what he had to say.
