CALGARY, Alberta, April 13, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Rogers for Business today announced a project to bring reliable, high-speed connectivity to Calgary’s small and medium-sized businesses, businesses and public sector customers. Rogers’ fiber optic network enables companies to use flexible, cost-effective technologies for their unique needs, including digital e-commerce and private networks. This includes activating the University of Calgary’s 5G campus, which will continue to benefit research and applications in the Internet of Things (IoT) in the areas of energy, smart cities, transportation and safety at work.

“The impact of COVID-19 has highlighted the critical role connectivity plays for Canadian businesses and the public sector. With this expansion in Calgary, we are fulfilling our commitment to investing in Western Canada and helping businesses of all sizes by giving them more choices in high-speed fiber connectivity, ”said Dean Prevost, president of Connected Home and Rogers for the business. “While many employees are still working remotely, we are building the network of the future. When the Calgary companies are ready, we’ll be there. “

Rogers for Business customers now have access to the latest broadband technologies with a full range of Internet and fiber optic packages, including gigabit speeds. Construction work, which began last year, has been completed for all of downtown Calgary and is now being expanded. Rogers’ fiber connectivity is an important element as the company continues to expand its 5G network as part of its commitment to network investment in Western Canada to enable advanced services – including smart city applications, fleet tracking, asset monitoring and the next generation of wireless Solutions .

“The City of Calgary has prepared for the needs of the new economy.
