We are facing a warm end to snowy October.
When the weather changed around mid-month, it looked like winter had come to Calgary early.
Even if snow covers the ground and November is just around the corner, it seems that, given the warmer temperatures we’ll see this week, fall will return for at least a while.
Monday starts with you peeking above freezing this afternoon with a high of 2 ° C before dropping back to a cold – if not painfully cold – -2 ° C overnight.
On Tuesday the real warmth begins and brings the temperature display to 9 ° C. However, Tuesday will also bring the only touch of snow throughout the week. Less than 1 cm is expected to fall.
Wednesday follows with a high of 4 ° C, Thursday brings things back to 9 ° C and Friday will be the warmest of the week with a high of 12 ° C.
This high will; Feel a little closer to 11 ° C, however, but we’re excited to hit double-digit numbers here at the end of October.
Saturday and Sunday both bring highs of 7 ° C and 8 ° C and lows of only 0 ° C and 1 ° C, respectively.
That gives a lot of time for the current snowpack to melt, and we might even see Halloween closer to fall than winter.
Anyone who lives in Calgary probably knows that the warm weather at this time of year can freeze up in no time at all. So use the heat while you can!
