This year’s golf season has started in Calgary. Selected golf courses are now open for the season.
With the tightening of public health policies leading to closings across the city, it’s a great way to safely use the open facilities when you look forward to the start time.
The 18-hole and par-3 courses at McCall Lake Golf Course opened earlier this weekThe 18-hole Shaganappi Point golf course was added to the list on Thursday.
To promote this good news, two more courses will open on Monday April 12th.
Tee times can now be booked for tThe Maple Ridge 18-hole and Shaganappi Valley 9-hole courses for time slots starting Monday.
“The city is excited to reopen our golf courses for the year,” said Greg Steinraths, Regional Operations Manager at Calgary Recreation. “We know how very many Calgarians were anxious to use the links again this year.”
“We’re excited to be able to offer another safe and healthy way to be active in the warmer months.”
The seasonal reopening of these Calgary golf courses has been conducted with safety in mind and steps have been taken to ensure that operations are in line with the mandate of the Alberta government.
These measures include allowing pre-booked games only, borrowing from clubs, restrictions on group size and gatherings, and restrictions on amenities such as cars and ball washes. Driving ranges are currently not open.
The city says its other golf courses will reopen due to weather, course conditions and in line with public health regulations.
