WestJet just unveiled its brand new flagship Elevation lounge at Calgary International Airport and it looks stunning.
An airline press release says the lounge is over 9,300 square feet, including designs inspired by life in the mountains and Canada’s diverse landscapes.
The flagship lounge was designed in collaboration with architecture and design firm Gensler and is a place where the top WestJet members and business travelers can work or rest during their trip to Calgary.
“The opening of the WestJet Elevation Lounge is a defining moment for our company and demonstrates our commitment to deliver world-class experiences both on the ground and in the air,” he said Arved from zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer of WestJet, in the press release.
The lounge is expected to be open for service from November 2nd and is located in Concourse B of the Domestic Terminal.
Visitors get access to a local and seasonal menu, signature drinks, special focus areas, private shower facilities, WestJet Priority Service Agents, artwork and VR experiences by Calgary-based artist Mandy Stobo, and products from local Calgary companies.
“The WestJet Elevation Lounge is a world first and we are delighted and proud to have YYC Calgary International Airport as its home,” he said Rob Palmer, Vice president of commerce, strategy and chief financial officer of the Calgary Airport Authority, in the press release.
“WestJet is YYC’s largest airline – by seats, departures and destinations. The flagship of the WestJet Elevation Lounge here in Calgary This means that our mutual guests will have a new premium travel experience with great local amenities and the highest health and safety standards. “
The opening of the Elevation Lounge takes place after two years of research, planning and construction.
